A small to medium pine with an uneven crown, generally 30-45' with a 15-30' crown. Often multistemmed. Works well in windbreaks. Used for cover, nesting and food source by birds and small mammals including porcupine. Seeds were eaten by Native American and early settlers. Valued for ornamental landscaping as a specimen tree.
