Profuse magenta blooms give the Desert 4 o'clock an oddly lush, tropical appearance that isn't very common in the deserts of the west!  This trailing plant isn't all unusual beauty, though...it is very useful, too.  It is ideal to cover a large area with minimal effort, investment or maintenance.  Perfect for improving a dry wash bank, irrigation ditches or steep hillsides.  As you might guess from the name, the flowers open in the late afternoon, adding striking color to the evening landscape.

Selection efforts increased winter hardiness.
